Satellite
Sound?
Apparently,
Monsoon claims that these speakers are true dipole-radiating satellite
planar magnetic speakers. Upon
further examination, I found them to be nothing more than
planar tweeters that look like ribbon tweeters.
The amp built into the
subwoofer delivers 11 watts of power with crisp harmonic sounds as a
result. Placement upon walls and other surfaces are
possible due to the flatness of these satellites. But most users
will probably opt for the included metal stands which are used to
mount the satellites into an upward angle to optimize sound.
Things That
Makes You Go Boom!
What
can we say about the subwoofer? Supplied
with 22 watts of power, the 5.25" driver is housed in a 6.9 liter
wooden ported box that’s set to 65Hz.
The crossover settings are at 250Hz, and supplies more than
enough power for a PC speaker setup. Setting the subwoofer to
the max brings out large booms that might be excessive for some
general users. Thank
goodness for earplugs!
